Re: What Are You Smoking May 2018
Just finished some Epiphany in a Rossi Vittoria 8320. Building cake, one bowl at a time.

Re: What Are You Smoking May 2018
Midday bowl today was SWRA in a bent MM CG with a Cobbit series semi-churchwarden stem. Total changeup, and I liked it better than I thought I would. Then I slept too long and I'm dealing with that now, lol... Hopefully back to bed soon.

Re: Tastes...
And, of course, yesterday as I was smoking, I found I was actually getting quite a bit of flavor, not just on the snork but on my tongue as well. So, probably a mix of maturing palate and attention. Maybe in a couple years I'll be really "tasting". But I definitely enjoy, regardless. My pi...

Re: What Are You Smoking May 2018
Midday bowl... umm, yesterday, at this point... was Haunted Bookshop (because of that thread, lol...) in a bent apple MM Diplomat with a freehand stem. Posting it late, as happens sometimes on my night shift days.

Tastes...
I was posting in the Haunted Bookshop thread, and it reminded me of an observation I've had recently. I don't really taste "flavors" from my tobacco, but not because I don't "taste", it's because of the way my brain processes these things. When I first started smoking a pipe, I d...

Re: Haunted Bookshop
I really like HB. I smoke it probably about weekly, but every time I do, I wonder why I don't smoke it more. Simple answer is that I smoke a lot of different blends depending on mood, but only get 1-2 bowls a day. But, HB is definitely one I'd smoke quite a bit more if I could fit more smoking in. F...

Re: Another Desert Island Blend thread...
This is always a difficult one... Definitely Morley's Best, I smoke more of that than anything else. I have a number in the high teens of jarred "rotation" tobacco blends, and I only ever get 1-2 bowls a day, but it's Morley's at least twice a week. When I can get back to my 5-6 bowl a day...

Re: The great American in stock all the time pipe tobacco blends
I smoked half a pound of Pegasus and think it's too close to OJK to bother trying to get it. Epiphany is great, but is fruit sweet whereas I'm hoping to stumble on a molasses sweet like Solani ABF. I'm like you, enjoying what I've tried from C&D but only scratching the surface of their hundreds...

Re: Benchmark Burleys
Man , Edgeworth Slices ... if it were a perfect world , we'd all be smoking it . I'll never not be shocked that it was stopped being produced . I honestly thought at last half of all pipe smokers smoked it , at least some of the time I've heard a lot of good things about Edgeworth Slices, too bad I...

Re: Chinese cob failure
Wow, just wow. I remember reading the original thread and hoping for the best. The tenon is not where I expected the first failure to happen. How thick a layer of pipe mud did you use on the sides?
