What Are You Smoking June 2019

Happy Father's Day to current and future dads. Puffed on the new-to-me Cametto the other day. It's a tad bit heavy for clenching and driving long distance, especially when on rough pavement, but great for sitting outside in the glider.

Some pipe art

Awesome find~! Great looking pipe art there! I used to doodle a bit, too. I'm sure I've got some stuff out in boxes in the garage, but my main piece is one that was published in 1989 as cover art for the South Dakota Division of Veterans Affairs "VET LETTER". The art commemorated Governor G...

Forgotten Peterson.

I get the same feeling whenever I look through the "refurb" box... so many great looking pipes in there that I've picked up in various odd shops over the years and some great snags on ebay... all just waiting to be refurbished.

Public Piping

I light up whenever I hit the road for a lengthy drive, and I don't hide it at all. I flaunt that thing like 24K gold teeth.

Funny, I don't really expect much reaction to my pipe, but I still find myself secretly disappointed when I don't get a thumbs up from an old-timer passing by. 8-)

What’s your wild dream?

I like fixing up houses and I'd love to get a big permaculture project going, so you'd probably find me in Arizona re-greening the desert in some run down, obscure ghost town - definitely in the middle of nowhere. :tumble:

Latest Pipe Acquisition 2019

Every once in a while you come across those badly titled auctions, maybe with wording that makes it unclear that it's actually for multiple pipes due to the tendency of people to just throw keywords in there. I stumbled across this auction which for the first 5 or so photos was just of one pipe, bu...

Old pipe shops from the 60's and 70's

I was excited to find out a couple guys partnered together to keep the Bowling Green Pipe & Cigar alive. It's located in the old part of Bowling Green, but lately it appears they're struggling with keeping it up. About 5 years ago I stopped in and it was a cozy little setup. They had a big screen T...

Price is what you pay

As a small business owner myself who will compete an every aspect of what we offer except for the price we charge, I always say, along with Warren Buffett, The Sage of Omaha, "Price is what you pay. Value is what you get." I just got an email from a pipe website. Don't ask me which one, I just swit...
