Re: What Are You Smoking December 2018

Been having Christmas chats with forum buddies. Last pipe was Russ' Candy Cane Cocoa in a Doug Erwin modded cob gifted to me by a fellow Piper. The morning Dunhill was a gift from a member of the old PSF.
I hope that all my friends here have a blessed Christmas.

Re: Oldest rifle you have that is shot often

I shoot my Martini-Enfield about 5 or 6 times a year. As I recall it has a manufacture date of 1884. It is .577x.450 Martini but I use a subcaliber device and shoot .45 LC for a whole lot le$$. Very fun to "bullet launch" with. When I do, actually, fire a .577-450 round from the rifle, that is exac...

I guess mine would be my Holland and Holland Sidelock Non-Ejector Double Rifle chambered for the .500 black powder expresss cartridge circa 1888. Made for His Highness the Nizam of Hyderabad. Deccan. It has 26” rifled barrels with concealed third fastener (treble grip) with London Black Powder Proo...

Comcast routers are expensive. $150/year.
My $100 dollar router is going on 8 years. I am shopping for a good replacement, but no hurry.

Re: Oldest rifle you have that is shot often

The oldest rifle I still shoot is a 1961 Remington Nylon 66. Next oldest is a 1971 Ted Williams /Winchester 30/30. My favorite rifle is an 1895 Siamese Mauser, but I have rebuilt it as a 45/70 in the 80s so I don't think of it as old. Hot loads are very good fun. Twice the energy of the Mannlicher a...

Re: A message to members from the admin

Divorce sucks. Mine was angry and final but we didn't have any kids so there's that. I am glad that you will be able to be there for the kids. I have seen many children damaged by sniping exes. I had to keep reminding myself how bad the marriage was. I have 42 happy years with my "new" wife. There i...

Wilke #191 in my 3rd new to me bulldog, a small Weber with a stinger. Smokes OK, but it will never make my rotation. Iced tea on the side.

Re: What Are You Smoking December 2018

WCDCC in the second Wally Frank bulldog. This one seems to have a medium Lakeland ghost. Not too bad though. This one is a Straight Grain second, I guess because of a couple of small fills. Doesn't bother me. Nice pipe with beautiful grain.
Iced tea on the side. Binging on Nat Geo nature films.
