I'm with Ray. I've smoked both. Lane is good but Sutliff Ready Rubbed Match is even better. Recommended.
Where's Sutliff match on the nicotine spectrum?
Based on my nicotine tolerance I would consider the Sutliff Match as mild to medium.

Re: Lane Limited Ready Rubbed

I enjoyed Lane's ERR. I think it tastes like the old ERR, but I prefer the Sutliff ERR Match more. I think it's worth a try. You can buy 2oz from 4Noggins so you don't have to buy a full tub. https://www.4noggins.com/lane-limited.aspx

Re: The Shape You Just Can't

I've always preferred the billiard shape because of it's nostalgic value. I'm still stuck in the 50's. I have other shapes in my collection but the billiard shape is more represented. I do prefer straight over bent and am really hung up on pencil shanks.

Re: Haunted Bookshop

I bought a tin of HB last month since I haven't smoked it in about 2 yrs. I didn't care for it 2 yrs ago, but this time around I'm enjoying it. Maybe it's because I purchased a tin and not bulk like I had 2 yrs ago. Does anyone notice a difference between tin vs bulk?

Re: Latest Pipe Purchase 2018

Just received a Missouri Meerschaum Shire Cob from the Cobbit Series. That concludes my collection. I now have all the Cobbit Series cobs and they all smoke great. My favorite is the Dwarf, the smallest of the series. It's great for smoking flakes and slow burning blends.

Re: Ennerdale

Kevin, I had the same reaction to the blend that you did. I bought a tin last year and was sort of on the fence about whether I liked it or not. I sealed it up in a mason jar and will revisit it in a couple of years, if I'm still around. Maybe some age on it will change my mind.

I assume that's an old tin of Virginia #1. Sure is darker then the modern stuff and the cut appears to be more of a broken flake then the current cut. I bet that's heaven to smoke.

Re: What Machine Made Cigar Are You Smoking Today?

I just ordered a 60 bundle of Bandito cigars from P&C. They get good reviews and I like that Clint Eastwood look from his westerns. They will be good for when a pipe is just not enough. I may just clench them without lighting up from time to time. I can't remember if their machine made or hand roll...

Re: What's In Your Lip?

Have been using Stokers Wintergreen for a couple of years. I switched over from Grizzly Wintergreen because Stokers has a sweeter taste and is not as strong in the nic hit as Grizzly. I buy Stokers by the large tub because it's more economical then buying just tins. I keep it in the fridge to keep i...
