Re: I'm a Sucker For Rusticated Pipes!
My new favorite pipe is a rusty Rattrays Brownie, surprisingly flawless for a $40 pipe. Smokes like a dream. Zee Germans know how to make a pipe.

Re: Oldest rifle you have that is shot often
This is the worst kicker I have, 1930's era Husqvarna '98 that was rechambered from 9.3x57 to 9.3x62. 286gr pill at 2500fps for around 4000ft/lbs of muzzle energy. Off the bench it's brutal, but it does shoot. https://image.ibb.co/mM1kwa/20170806-123101.jpg https://image.ibb.co/j23n9v/20170806-12342...

Why didn't I buy one of these earlier? Blown away by how cool and flavorful it smokes.

Oldest rifle you have that is shot often
Just thinking about this and figured I'd start a thread. Oldest I have that gets used is an 1899 Oberndorf made Swede '96 sporter, sported when I got it, I don't like to bubba. Job was well done in Sweden, shop I got it from imports hundreds of rifles a year from there. They have weird laws where yo...

Re: Ideas on getting destroyed lug nut off tire?
Figured I'd post the outcome.
Garage had to torch it off...which is okay, since I don't have a torch, now I don't feel completely useless lol.

Re: Problem Pipe
I just had a similar issue with a new Grabow. First couple of bowls were fine, then it started tasting/smelling really chemical, narrowed it down to the stain inside the shank...there was a lot, and I guess the heat from smoking was releasing the smell/taste. Took a bit of scrubbing with Q-tips, nyl...

Covered Bridges in a new Grabow Cardinal. Gotta say, no complaints with the Grabow, smokes good, definitely a good value pipe.

Re: Turquoise Inlay Pipes
I don't think it is actually turquoise the stone/gem, just colored epoxy resin poured in manufactured channels sanded smooth. If it is turquoise the stones, they must have been crushed to dust and used to color the resin.
And I agree pear wood is garbage for pipes...
