A friend of mine, retired doctor, smoked pipes until he got some problems that ruled out pipe-smoking. Although he misses his pipes, what he really misses is that great ordor that he enjoyed with the pipes. He asked me if there were any "substitutes" for the pipe that would let him still enjoy the ordor. Incense? Candles? ??? I told him I did not know of anything -- but if there were such a product, some one on this forum would surely know. You all have answered a lot of my questions over the years in the old forum. Any suggestions?

I would guess there are more than a few candles that smell like sweet vanilla aromatic pipe tobaccos in the pouch. I don't know what would smell like burning tobacco except for the real deal.

Here's a couple of links. Now, I have never tried these so I can't say whether they are awesome or they suck. But they could be used inside one of those Reed diffuser things or maybe even one of those electronic air scent things that puts a little shot of scent into the air every couple of minutes.

Fun fact: most scented oils that say they are tobacco scented are actually made to smell like a tobacco blossom, not the leaf or the product we know and love. So some care is needed in using the correct search terms or it will just smell like a flower shop. I suggest "pipe tobacco scented oil" and I now realize that I know far too much about this topic

Tell him to buy some tobacco, put it in a pouch and give it a whiff when he gets the craving.

I see that you are well versed in the scented candle department. If I have any questions I'll know who to turn to.

I am, but mostly in the store bought candles lol. I have made a couple as well but I haven't hit the sweet spot yet. Truth be told I learned about the scents while I've been doing R&D for men's beard care stuff. So I read a ton about the types of oils, which ones are safe for skin / hair and how much can be used safely etc etc etc. With any luck I'll get a new venture off the ground in the coming year

Thanks man, I really appreciate it! Yes there should be mustache wax available. I don't use wax on mine so I have a few friends testing it out now. I went with a wax & pine tar resin mix (instead of petroleum jelly like a lot of people do) so it has a built in lumber yard scent lol
