I bought some Escudo a while back. Intended to let them get a few years on them. Could wait no longer, so I cracked open a tin. Now it is a top 10 blend. Really like it. Another excellent blend is HH Burley Flake which came out in 2018 or I just discovered it in 2018. Either way another top ten blend. I think I have about 20 top ten blends due to ties at every position, but those two are the new additions to the top ten.

Low Country VaBur (I'll echo Kevin saying that it has a rough edge that I find pleasant)

I did have a revelation (not the tobacco) in 2018. I discovered HH ODF and am now buying it 5 lb at a time. A revelation because i've been a Balkan blend smoker for 50 years. The 2 I smoke most are ODF and C&D Engine 99, followed by HH Vintage Syrian.
How much of the Vintage Syrian do you have left? Have you tried the new version?

Thanks Padre. Some of my choices are heavily influenced by yourself and Kevin because of reading here and on the TR site. Epiphany is the perfect example as I wasn't a huge fan until I saw your note on TR about trying it in a wider chamber. Once I did that the blend clicked with me

Lessee...for me in 2018, I think my faves were;
1. Low Country VaBur, and
2. Old Standby (my own 1:1 blend of the above and Burley Lite Without a Bite)
3. SWR
4. SWRA
5. Lane Ready Rubbed

Yep. I'm a codger.

I think the two blends that really took me by surprise this year were Bob's Chocolate Flake, and Lancer's Slices. Since smoking through samples of both, I have been pretty much continuously on the lookout for them both. Honorable mention goes to PS Amsterdam (Thanks Father Tom!), which always delivers satisfaction when I crave Kentucky.

That is it. I have placed 3 or 4 orders for it - maybe 10 lbs total. The cut varies from batch to batch. The taste varies a little. I just don't care if I have to rub out a few bits of flake or I get more fish flake and less ribbon. I really like it a lot. If you want consistent in a milder (also very good) burley, SPRT is the thing at this price point.
