I recommend Samuel Gawiths 1792.

And if you don't like Tonquin, Samuel Gawiths Lakeland Dark is 1792 sans topping.

Sadly nicotine doesn't really affect me anymore. The last blend that gave me the nice heady feeling of lady N was Haunted Bookshop which kind of fits into that same style as Old Joe. Another one that supposedly carries plenty of nic and flavor is Peterson Irish Flake

I would have added one more qualifier...cheap! Err, I mean "a good value smoke". :king:

Since I just finished smoking some and I always get that throat tingling about halfway through I'm also going to toss C&D Black Frigate in the mix for consideration. TR rates it at medium strength. Rummy goodness. It's a crumble cake and can be pulled apart and rubbed out easily but I think it tastes best when I slice a chunk off with a knife and then rub it out. Maybe I'm crazy but it seems more balanced when I cut it vs going caveman and tearing off a wad

Another favorite is GLP Sextant. It's got a bit of punch to it and TR rates the strength medium to strong. Even rummier goodness. Both taste best when you go really easy on them

aside from others mentioned, I'm a big fan of GH Kendal Dark. Great in a pipe, great as a cigarette.

MacBaren's has a couple tobaccos with a lot of Dark Kentucky that are really good. But the biggest nicotine kick I ever had came from a C&D blend called Exclusive. 50% perique! I bought that at Smokingpipes.com

Exclusive is really good. I smoked up a pound of it pretty quickly. I have another pound I will open when I polish off thebag of Three Friars I am working on.
