Raise the floor?

Cheap eBay estate pipe 'Captain Black' needs fettling.
I'm fairly sure the 'floor' of the bowl is too low in relation to the draught hole.
Is there a goop of some sort I can use to lift said floor a touch?
If not it's not the end of the world but it is fun playing.

Guys usually make pipe mud with cigar ash. It is a good excuse to smoke one. ✔

Cigar ash and spit does the trick. You want it to be pretty thick but not too dry
