I lucked out, I used my old boy every day for 6 years with just refilling it and adding flint. It suffered a fall out of my truck and the valve cracked, it still works but I have to fill it everyday. It now sits on my shelf out of service and I only use it as a prop.simplepipes wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 3:27 pm Clipper . . .

I have a box of dead lighters including Corona, Dunhill, Old Boy, Sarome, just to name a few. All will operate again with repair but just not motivated to do so any longer.Bruyere_Royale wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 4:18 pmI lucked out, I used my old boy every day for 6 years with just refilling it and adding flint. Purchased 12 Clippers some two years past (refillable - fluid and flint) for under $10 and have been very pleased. I have about half left . . . not due wear but gifting to others.

I like the Clipper over a BIC since the Clipper is refillable.simplepipes wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 3:27 pm Clipper . . .

Matches only for me. I've tried Zippos, Bics, Djeep(which I like for cigars), Old boy knock-offs, and even hemp wick.. nothing seems to get tobacco going like a match. I've used cedar spills lit with some other fire source too, and that works just as well but tends to give your bowl a woodsy flavor.

Man, I'm glad you bought that box of Clippers. You started out sounding suicidal. Where there's flame, there is light.
