Can't afford a Dunhill? Buy a Parker! All the arguments about Parker's relationship aside, Parkers are good quality pipes that are very similar to Dunhills in appearance and performance. I personally think that the old Super lines of Parker pipes are an excellent value.
This is a Parker Super Russet pipe in the 4-panel straight billiard shape. The pipe is not dated. As such my guess is that it’s a 60s-70s pipe.
The bowl exterior is in very good condition. There are no scratches or dings. The finish is slightly faded at the heel. The rim is straight and sharp. There is just a very fine line of darkening at the chamber back rim.
The walls of the carbonized chamber are straight and true.
The left shank is stamped: 98/F Parker Super Russet. The word Super is very lightly stamped. The right shank is stamped: Made in London England. This stamp is also a bit light in places. There is also a circled 3 indicating the group or size number. The pipe is not small. I’d call it an average size billiard.
The ebonite fishtail stem is in excellent condition. It sports the P in a diamond Parker logo. There is no tooth wear.
The tenon fits the shank perfectly.
The pipe measures: 6” x 1.75” with a .75” chamber bore.
The interiors of the chamber, shank and stem have been cleaned and the pipe is ready to smoke.
