Well we just wrapped up our first 90 days. I just wanted to remark about my observations and my feelings on the state of the board.

First of all, I want to share with you guys something that the mods already know. I am very likely living through the final year of a 16 year marriage that produced two children. I've not been happy in my marriage for many years, so what I am going through is emotionally draining but also like getting a light at the end of the tunnel and the promise of future happiness. I'm sure some of you have experienced what I am going through, and know how difficult it is when children are involved. So I have been kind of an absent landlord here at PSF, and there is the reason why. I still try to stay on top of external threats to the forum and read enough to stay somewhat in the loop as best I can under the circumstances. This won't last forever and I thank you for your patience with me.

I wanted to remark that I think the first 90 days of PSF has produced a fantastic nucleus for a great community moving forward. We are building, slowly, but what I observe from the membership here to date is quality and a spirit of community that is remarkable for a pipe forum at this early stage of its development.

It makes me really, really happy to look at this community and it stands now and I feel fantastic about what the future of PSF looks like. Thanks to all of you for being part of it.
I hope our names are touching on the watch list

I totally know what youre going through , unfortunately . I always say , when I read these instances , if its possible to salvage .. ya gotta do it . I know once a point is reached , it's over , but I'm always hopeful . That said , it will be " freeing " and the whole world will seem a bit lighter ... I get it . I'm just always sorry to hear it

As far as PSF in concerned , I think it's excellent ! I like the layout , as it is easy . The best part is the membership ! Our members are really damn fine . Of course , I miss some folks from the old psf and I'm sure some of them would be here also if we were able to talk about this site before the old psf went lights out but that wasnt the case and its unfortunate . But oh well . I do look forward to newbies because the membership here is a no foo foo mostly veteran bunch and we have good advise and can help out for sure . We had a box pass of sorts early on and it went well . I'm glad it happened because it builds trust among members . I ended up getting an insane pipe from Sloroll . Btw , I knew my son Nick would flip over it so I agreed to share it with him half the year . He and I have the exact same tastes in pipes and thats so cool . When I was his age [ 24 ] , my tastes were not where they are now .. I was into Freehands . Curently , I dont own one free hand other than the fist pipe I made

Anyway , I'm glad for this site and I will enjoy being here for years to come [ God willing ] and watching it grow over time

Thanks , sisyphus ... I was gonna cut off the pipe related internet stuff all together when the old site was dying off but this place is fresh and worth visiting for me . I appreciate it .

Has it been three months already? There have been so many quality conversations (Tootsie Pop poll notwithstanding) that it seems longer.

Let the games continue!

If all you old-timers don't mind me adding my two cents; it's always been the generally receptive and respectful nature of the members of PSF that has made it special. As a noob, it was the codger-crew of PSF that coached me along. Frankly, it's been a little lonely without yas. (snif) Let the good times roll! :buddy:

I had heard about the demise of PSF1.0 and the passing of Woody from a co-worker, (Wildcat), made my last post over there and found my way here at his suggestion. Glad I came back to the forums, especially this one. The original felt like home for awhile before... stuff... This place feels like home! I think it always will. My life is completely different now than it was back then and it's good to have a place where I can come and laugh, have a good time and just fellowship with other pipe smokers. Glad to be here.
