Today at the bar, The Smiths came on the radio, which never happens. I don't know what the official song title is, but it's the one where Morrissey sings, "I would go our tonight but I haven't got a stitch to wear."

As soon as it started I looked up at the ceiling speakers. Everyone noticed. I rarely pay any attention to the music playing except to try my best to ignore it, and, when I can't ignore it, complain that I don't like it---not that I am one to complain. As soon as the jangly opening bars started, I was tapping my fingers on the bar, still reading the newspaper. I know this song so well, I know it in my sleep. Good memories.

I whistled along with the words, to myself, quietly so as not to disturb anyone . About midway through the song the bartender said, "Are you okay, Mr. King?" The bartender, the assistant manager, and both waitresses were looking at me and giggling."

"We didn't know you can whistle. You're always so serious," the assistant manager said to me.

"You sounded like a beautiful bird," one of the waitresses said.

"We didn't mean to disturb you," the bartender said. "We couldn't help ourselves. We've never seen you this way before."

I am human. I should have had a corn cob pipe with me.

I dig Jesus and Mary Chain. That takes me back. Those were the days. To be young again.

This is what I am listening to today:

Listening to Tyler Childers live on Red Barn Radio. IMO his best stuff is live and acoustic. Don’t get me wrong his band kicks ass and they sound great live and recorded but I feel like a lot of his stuff really hits hard acoustic and stripped down.

Yep. Never got to see them but caught the Pagans years ago in Chicago. Have some family that knew Cheetah from highschool.

"Good enough" is a false idol. Beware those that preach its virtue.
