Star Trek: Picard

Whalehead King

I hate everything new. I haven't liked anything new about Star Trek since Deep Space Nine, and that took a long, long time. So long that I'm of the opinion that DS9 may be the best of the Star Trek series. I have my reasons. I still, however, have an overpoweringly fond familial and heartfelt love for TNG. Thinking of some of those TNG episodes gets me all misty eyed. Mr. Projectionist, please run the trailer for Star Trek: Picard:

Man, I hope they don't screw this up.

In the future, everyone will be smoking brylon pipes. A briar pipe comes from a plant but a brylon pipe is a work of science.

I can see Picard negotiating with aliens over the view screen while clenching a Yello-Bole Spartan packed with M79. If M79 was good enough for Hugh Hefner, you know it's good enough for Jean-Luc Picard. If Picard doesn't smoke a pipe in this series I am going to be seriously disappointed.

This, this right here, makes me wish that I had T.V.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

Jon Luc was great. The problem with 2G was Troi and Riker.

The episodes of Enterprise that dealt with the temporal war were good, but the rest were mostly nonsense.

The Orville was a disgrace.

Voyager had some good episodes and 6of9 made the rest of them watchable.

DS9 was usually good.

However, none of them hold a candle to the original. Even with all of it's cheese.

I prefer the Orville to all preceding versions. I thought ST was stupid from day one. Really liked DS9, and the Voyager was pretty decent.
