LBJ Day is an official state holiday here in the Lone Star State, created by the state legislature after his death. It is observed on August 27, LBJ's birthday. If he were still here, he'd be 112 today. He died at a relatively young 64. Happy birthday LBJ! I wanna piece of that cake.

Used to hang out in his offices at the Pickle Federal Building in downtown Austin - they have preserved all of his original furnishings.

Later today I may drive my car into a lake in tribute. ✔
