Any ideas on how to make a corn cob. I'm guessing you have to dry out, and drill a husk, then stick a stem in it. Is it that simple?

That's pretty much exactly what mine look like. I even called up the Missouri Meerschaum factory one day to ask about what they used to attach their stems as I had a mishap with one of mine. They basically use Elmer's glue to hold the stem to the bowl. Haha.

That’s pretty much it. I will tell you that your average ear of corn is t goi got make you a very big pipe. The ears MM uses are genetically engineered to have a larger cob to kernel ratio. But yes you can absolutely make a corncob pipe by drilling out a cob and sticking a stem in it.
So here's a link to where you can buy corn cobs that are suitable. Not sure if it would be cost effective to have shipped to you.

Speaking of corn cobs, I've had my eye on this set. Bold move selling individual cobs as a patriotic souvenir.

Elmer's Glue-All was introduced in 1947. It has been the woodworkers' and craftspeople's best friend ever since.
Elmer's Glue is no Gorilla Glue or Crazy Glue, but it's a glue that makes sense and you can understand and it is very reliable when used as directed. No toxic fumes. It makes sense that MM would use this kind of glue. I would, too, if I had to affix a stem on a corn cob pipe.
