I’ve been looking for an Ithaca/SKB XL900 like my dad had. It’s a 12 ga semi auto shotgun. They are not very popular but great guns. My dad was an “Ithaca Man”. Anyway in my travels this week I happened on one in a pawn shop in Alabama. It was in need of some love and had been there a while. After some walk away negotiation I brought it home for a song. I little scrubby scrubby and the penny trick on the barrel rust it looks pretty good. My son and I ran two boxes of shells through it dusting expired sodas. Quite impressive after sitting in the sun and given a shake. We were tossing them up in the air. After that we put about 100 rounds through my Ruger Bisley .480. Great afternoon hanging with my son.

Good man. Had a good son. Had a good grandson. Here's to many more grand-, grand-, grand-, grandsons after that, and many more, far into the future.

Thank you sir. I was able to get my hands on my Dad’s side by side Ithaca double after he passed away. The semi auto got away from me to my brother. I passed on his S&W 686 to my son as a college graduation present. He was excited and emotional to have his pawpaw’s revolver.

Any day shooting is good day. I have an electric claybird slinger, so I can go thru a box of birds in nothing flat. Good thing they're only 9 bucks a box. Discounting cost of shells of course. I still love shooting claybird with a side-by-side. Nostalgia and all that. Funny, it seems that except for pipe smoking, all my hobbies have involved turning money into noise.

Yep 6” barrel. The paper work inside the box shows my dad bought it three days after my son was born. I kinda think he intended for him to have it.
