Ok. After a few more samples at the Total Wine and More today I think I have found what I like in bourbon for what I want to pay.
So now I want to give brandy a shot.
I have only tried E&J VSOP which I liked but am wondering about some other brands.
What have you tried and liked?
Brandy Suggestions
Ok I am 23 years clean and sober, but before I cut myself off I was a huge fan of good brandy. For me it's a winter enjoyment, as brandy is very warming. The single best brandy I ever drank was a 21 year old Armagnac, I forget by who. The best bottle I ever bought was Marquis de Caussade Armagnac. I kept the bottle for years after. I would pull it out now and then, pop the cork, inhale and my eyes would roll back into my head. The stuff was sublime.
I hope our names are touching on the watch list

I know that I am a little late in replying to this but...
Hennessy, VSOP or, better yet, XO.
With brandy, the only way to go is cognac and there you simply have to lay down $$ for the good stuff or don't bother. I rarely buy it. I simply watch for sales at the state ABC store, pick up a bottle when I can, and sip it now and again. I do NOT guzzle the stuff so I always have some in rotation, even on a meager budget.
