Well, they are the best pipe filter on earth.
How do these compare to balsa filters in terms of nic reduction?

I personally find the paper ones to be superior to balsa. Balsa seems to act more as a passive sponge to soak up moisture that drops out of the smoke, whereas the paper ones have a little matrix of "hangies" inside them that pulls the funk out. Judging by general grossness after a single smoke, paper ones win.

Galavanting out in the county, obligatory stop at Timmmmmmie's, obligatory bowl, this time everything is coming up Sutliff peaches, in the Sav bulldog...

I've tried three fruits, cherry, orange, peach, don't like 'em. The peach is probably the least offensive, but I predict a ghost. Once you get past the flavor, the underlying leaf, I'm guessing cavendish, isn't too bad. I'll jar it up and wait at least until next season's harvest. Cheers...

My new pipe arrived today . . . I am extremely pleased and anxious to start the break-in process.

This pipe was very reasonably priced and far exceeds the quality of others I paid significantly more for.
