Hi There.
I am strongly recommending you DO NOT BUY any non expensive pipes from site smockingpipes.com
I want to share with you my experience.
Month ago I had carelessness to buy Charcom pipe from this site.
Charcom is a French company and I new that a French briar has a well known reputation as a pretty soft briar.
It was not very expensive pipe, but still $112 USD ...
That is why I took a risk and was punished for that.
Pipe was delivered in 3 weeks (they said due to COVID-19 - how it is related?).
I a first smock pipe started to burn (creating cavities) and produce stinky smell.
Plus, was developed some laker bibles on the surface (looks like Charcom producers cover this pipe with varnish!).
After short emailing with smockingpipes.com I have sent this pipe back to them for investigation.
When pipe has arrived to them I got a verdict from their "professionals": "Pipe was over burn and I am not eligible for refund".
What does it mean "over burn"?
I did not put any gunpowder or gasoline inside this pipe.
I have more than 40 years pipe smocking experience and, I know how to smoke pipe.
Resume: "Never buy pipes from this site in case if you not sure in pipe's quality".

Yeah... I've always had good service from them.

I think they're trying to tell you that you smoked the pipe too hot and they can't be held liable for the damage to the pipe due to misuse. Whether you agree with their assessment or not that is what they determined was the cause of damage to your pipe. I've dealt with them for many years and have nothing but good to say about them, as have many others. Sorry you had a bad experience.
I hope our names are touching on the watch list

Thanks for sharing what you went through with this company Boba. Your experience is out there now, so I'm locking this one up.
