New pipes ......

G'day everyone.
Recently I've been unwell. As part of my therapy I've been buying some new pipes to cheer myself up .......... er I mean much needed for my rotation.
An old German pipe shop, that was established at the turn of the last century, shut recently & their old stock is being sold.

I didn't realise how many I'd bought until they started arriving weeks after purchase & noticed my bank balance was really low.
I've got a 1930-40's Cavalier. A carved cavalier & a sitter with a bakelite base is on the way. I've also bought what the seller thinks is the very first 'systems' pipe made in the 1920's. For some reason I even bought 2 doz stummels that just need staining & a stem (Why? God knows, I don't even know how to make a stem ............ my only excuse is they were going cheap, lol)

Most of my purchases were made between the 1920's to 1950's, brand spanking new.

I'd love to post pics but I've got no idea how to download from phone to laptop. The tutorials I've googled are confusing. And Windows 10 is no help; Windows 8 must have been developed by inmates from a psychiatric asylum for the criminally insane while high on meth. The updated Windows 10 isn't much better. (The Ubuntu program on my last laptop was so easy to use. Why can't Microsoft provide similar?)

A mate helped me to download some pics from my phone a while ago but we didn't have time to write down the steps ('We'll do it later' he said. He's since been in hospital for 12 weeks, poor bugger) As the only other mate whom I trust to mess with my computer lives an hour away, has a 14mo boy & a sick wife, I'm not expecting help any time soon.

My mate downloaded the pics in an entirely different way to the googled tutorials, didn't require an app & didn't look too difficult.
If anyone can provide a link to an easy to follow tutorial, it would be much appreciated. If you like pipe porn it will be worth the effort, lol.
(An older Samsung phone - Windows 10 on laptop)
Thanks.

Legion, I'm no good at giving any tutorial on anything computer wise. I'm sure not everyone here is as ignorant as I am though. I know how to do it but can't give directions to save my life. I can say it's not hard to do. Lol

On my Samsung GS3 I could connect the charging cord to my Laptop's USB port and download the pics direct, but now I use an IPhone 5S and like you I can't download them direct to the computer so to combat that I email them to myself. It can be time consuming and aggravating, but at least I can get the picture where I want it.

If there is a serious photo handling chore, i will use the iphone lightning cable. Otherwise, I will do what was already mentioned, email to myself. With both of these options you can use the editing software on your PC to crop, edit, etc.

The other option, which I've only seen on this website, is the little icon that looks like the lower case "i" with a green dot. This allows uploading the pic directly from the phone. Pretty handy.

It dawned on me that I could copy pics from the ebay ad itself. Now that that's done, I can't see where one attaches a pic to ones post.
A forum search offers nothing.

So please kind people, could someone point this hopelessly tech challenged bloke how to attach a pic to a reply? (Seriously, I do know how to tie my shoe laces)

I've got pics of the carved 1920's Cavalier, the Muhlensiepen Echt Bruyere horn stem sitter (with a removable bakelite base) a UTOR rusticated (looks blasted to my eye) Churchwarden & a nice example of the 1930-40s Bruyere Garantie pipes that I've been accumulating.
How do I now attach the pics to a post?
