Gotta build a fleet! I had a lot of nice pipes that were lost and I'm getting back into pipes in a big way!

Just finished restoring this Dr Grabow last night - not sure how to identify it. Only stamp is "Imported Briar" on the shank, but this is my first pot so I'm excited to fire it up!
Looks like 49S, maybe a Starfire?

Edit.. It has a rook stinger on it? Belvedere?
It has a ball-type stinger where the end is slotted and removable:

Not that anyone *really* cares, but for my own edification @Thelonious monkfish was right when he said the Dr G I have is a Willard. According to Ted over on the Dr G forums:

"Sparta Willards were made for RJ Reynolds. RJR packed 2 bags of tobacco (CH, PA, George Washington) and a Willard in a blister package and sold millions.
Grabow delivered as many as 60,000 a month to RJR and only 6% were for the military (PX).

We sold them to RJR for $1.00 each and the Willard military (the 6%) had wide aluminum bands and were sold for .95 cents.

As Ed said, Quality and grain are less than top notch and the stems were plastic of some sort. Not Nylon. Full bents should have a vulcanite stem and have lasted longer than the others.
They are typically small but you'll occasionally find a large one.
Smoking quality is as good as any, but the plastic stems are usually in bad shape, and even the good ones are "chewey" and take a little getting used to.

The package, tobacco and pipe, was an instant pipe smoking kit and probably created thousands of new pipe smokers. Many probably didn't last past the 2 bags of tobacco, but a bunch did. It was a great idea for RJR and Grabow.. ted"

I received my Ben Wade Champion (left) and Ben Wade Statesman (right) today. I am very happy with these pipes overall. A great quality/price ratio that is hard to beat.
