This has to qualify as one of the more overpriced pipes I have seen in a while. The fact that the vendor is not sure if it is a Grabow or a Peterson should be a red flag.

Then one more element that adds confusion: "Handcrafted in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee."
So it's a rare Dr Grabow that was made by Peterson in Tennessee? You know.. with how crazy and interconnected the pipe world is, I really wouldn't be all that surprised.

I sent a message to the guy asking if it was Dr Grabow, Peterson or Handcrafted in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Told him I hadn't seen a Dr Grabow or a Peterson I'd ever pay $400 for.
Will be interesting to see if the description changes.

And he won't pay for international shipping either. What a putz.

His response to me was:
Yes, it is handcrafted. Dr. Grabow and Peterson are search words, added to expand my potential customer base. Thanks for the question.
Funny that an artisan wouldn't use his OWN name to sell his pipes. Then again, judging by the fabric paint he colored in his mistletoe leaves with, I guess he needs all the draw he can get.
