Refried beans?

What the devil are they?

Are they the same as our British baked beans?

Thanks chaps.
I also checked on the interwebs and they are much the same with the main difference to me being ours aren't mashed.
They're actually quite healthy here (baked) and a staple of my diet.
Which makes the word I learnt while reading about the tex mex variety appropriate.

American refried beans are typically pinto beans
You are most likely having "white" beans in a can of Baked Beans
I especially like black beans aka Turtle Beans

What are "English Baked Beans" and how are they prepared? My Nephew married a young lady from England and adopted her 7 year old son. He usually asked to have Toast & "Proper Beans" for breakfast.

English baked beans are the furthest thing from Mexican refried beans.

English baked beans are very similar to Cambells canned pork and beans with more of a tomato-y sauce.
