I first read this post at around 4:30AM (Central US Time). I've been thinking about it all day, over and over. I picked up a packet of purple Pop Rocks. The sizzle made me giggle but it wasn't as satisfying as a Tootsie Pop with it's hard candy shell surrounding a chewy chocolate center. You can't chew a handful of popping candy. It doesn't have the same mouth-feel.
I hope you enjoyed your Tarts more than I enjoyed my Rocks. A hard pastry shell surrounding a chewy fruit-flavored center. The human brain is a funny thing..... and every day brings its own surprises...
I asked my wife what her favorite tootsie pop flavor is. Without hesitation she said raspberry. Ah, what does she know? Wait a second she married me so she must be on to something.
