I am acquainted with more than one individual who has burned hard boiled eggs, but not one who is unable to cook bacon to an edible state.
I have also rendered over 20lb of bacon grease in the past calendar year. Bacon is my primary breakfast, and exclusive source of Sodium dietary sodium.
Curing, slicing and frying a swine's beer gut just speaks to me in a way I cannot describe.
Eating bacon is an allegory for consuming Gluttony himself;
Render that which is excess, consume that which is important.
Black river is the major Organic foods distributor in my region. I'm not surprised that they would put this sort of Yankee snark on their packaging.

Looks like Black River Meats. I don't actually have the bacon in hand. Someone sent me the pic knowing I consider bacon to be one of the basic food groups.
