They had sharps back in the day with iron sights and windage . A scope would have made things a bit easier :)

I shot a sharps octagon barrel in 45.70 ....that was sexy as hell

From a distance is always the safer option. Lol.. I have an octagon 45-70 as well to go along with this 30-30. The standard sights work just fine.

I'm scoping my 30-06, but I'm leaving the 375 with just iron sights. To my mind the 375 is for taking dangerous game at close distance, and that's how I'm going to shoot it.
