Welcome from the part of New England politely referred to as "stoic".

Here the best day of your life is referred to as "pretty good"

"How was your day?" It wasn't bad.

I say this all the time in my native Nutmeg Yankee dialect and accent. It drives people up the wall.

"How was dinner?" It wasn't bad.
"How was the movie?" It wasn't bad.
"How's work going? " It's not bad.
"What do you think of our new mayor?" He's not bad.
"That's a good price for that tin of Daughters & Ryan Three Sails, don'tcha think?" It's not bad.
"Cobs are the best pipes for someone just starting out their pipe smoking journey." Yep. they're not bad.

"Are you saying cobs aren't good?" What's the opposite of good? Good is the opposite of bad. i just said cobs aren't bad. If something isn't bad that means it is GOOD.

"Why don't you just come out and say that?" I just did.

How do I like PSF? To tell you the truth, t's not bad.

I hope you enjoy it here. PSF is pretty good. Whaddya want fireworks and a marching band every time a new screen window opens? Now that would be..... :awesome:

Okay, okay, fine. I'll give in. PSF is pretty awesome. It's nice to have you and every other new member here, and all longstanding members, too. The more the merrier. Now let's dive into the threads! The conversations on PSF are pretty good. They're not bad. They're not bad at all. :)

I always say "not bad" too, but I say it in Yiddish. It just fits.

So when I said "Welcome from friendly New England," all of you New Englanders should have read it low and slow like your grandad would have said it. Deadpan. Then it'll sound like it's meant to; sardonic. Except for the "welcome" part.

I think we've still got a couple pages of slack to fill up. I'm sure everyone is fascinated by all this New England banter.
