Brings back fond memories of summer Saturdays when my whole family would go down to Galveston and go crab fishing off of the pier. Turkey necks on the end of a line and a long handled net is all that one needs to catch some dinner. We would come back with a whole, huge duffel bag full of crab and what didn't get eaten with lemon and butter Grandma would cook up in some gumbo with a side of salad topped with crab meat and her home made thousand island dressing. ;)
OMG, you two are killing me! OB, we love Galveston, been going there forever. We don't have a Grandma there so we stay at the Hotel Galvez. Gaidos has really gown down hill...our favorite place nowadays is Shrimp N Stuff. What a great town.
Bruyere_Royale, that pan of crab looks flat out edible! Now I'm drinking coffee and smoking LCNVB in a PJL (plain jane Legend) and there's not a crab in sight.

Thank you for sharing! Yeah, crab gumbo sounds fantastic! We always just made the basic crabcakes with any leftovers. Smash that on a crusty Kaiser roll with some hot cherry peppers and your in business!

Smoking Sutliff's match Edgeworth ready rubbed in a Kaywoodie Apple and I'm drinking a Bustelo Café con Leché.
