Smoking rum twist in a Parker Pot and drinking café Bustelo.
Why does it have to be café?
Because that's the Spanish word for coffee?

Because "Gentleman's Club Bustelo" didn't seem acceptable? :)

Puffing on a year-old batch of Astleys 44 with a heavy heart. There's an empty spot next to me here where my best pal always laid down. My thanks go out to to Bruyere "Tsal" Royale, Mike Dennison, and Longshanks for your condolences for the death of my boon companion, Lucy. Time mends broken hearts.

Seems yesterday was a terrible day for Father Tom as well; he lost his father-in-law. My greatest sympathies to you and your family Father.

Here's to hoping 2019 brings us all some better days.

Happy Piping Fellas
At the risk of launching into a sermon, one of those qualities of life is that our days are numbered. It is very hard to lose a loved one - 4-legged or 2-legged. We have an appreciation for the fact that they played a more significant role in our lives than we may have realized. Understanding that we are all mortal does not make it much easier. My wife knew she would bury her father some day. She just did not expect it to be this week.
Don't know how I missed that while reading yesterday's posts; my heartfelt condolences to you and your family, Padre

Today my best buddy passed away, my Lucy; a 3-years-young Oriental Shorthair I rescued from a shelter. She was struck by a car just before sunrise.
Being the hermit type of guy that I am, Lucy was special to me beyond words, and more dog-like than any feline pal I've ever had. She never meowed incessantly, bit, scratched, or did anything to annoy me, ever, and had an unnaturally soft and short coat.

Lucy loved sitting on my lap while I smoked my pipe and seemed to truly enjoy the smell of my fresh flakes being rubbed up. She was a piper's dream cat.

I'm now sitting here without my little boon companion, puffing away on some Condor Plug with a splash of gin in my herbal tea on the side, eyes red from sobbing all day. I know this isn't a support forum for grieving pet owners, but Lucy was as much a part of my smoking ritual as my accoutrements. I'm missing her like hell tonight.

I wish you all a good night, and I hope that your day was far better than mine.
That kind of thing is always tough, I know that my dogs are more like my kids than animals and I'm sure it's the same with you and Lucy. My deepest condolences man. :(

ODF-RR in a BST pot

Thanks for the condolences. It has been a busy day getting loose ends tied up and services covered. I got the animals to the kennel. I leave in the morning.
