Gonna definitely be in the dog house tonight, it's my wife's Birthday and I'm gonna be out late with work! Smoking Sutliff's mocha strips in a Kaywoodie 98b.
About a dozen or so years back I told my wife I wouldn’t be around for our anniversary in late September because I drew and Idaho elk tag. Her response was simple. “You know this is going to cost you more than just the price of that tag and your fuel, right?” I told her I never had any doubt of that, and I was right. She bought a 1972 Mercedes 220 diesel in unbelievable mint condition, she drove that thing for several years. I wasn’t too upset, at least it was practical. Coulda been a trip to Jamaica to spend the week with a cabana boy.
Did you take down an Elk?
Not that year. It was an expensive bow hiking trip.

Your wife was laughing at you while driving around in her new car. I know mine would have. Lol

Perhaps, but I was hunting on horseback out of an outfitters camp miles from the end of the last road in a beautiful place. I really couldn’t have cared less what anyone else was doing at the time. It was worth every penny. We sold that car for more than we paid so it’s not like it really cost me anything.

It looks nice but it sounds like fire engine sirens and weedeaters most of the time. Could be worse, can’t complain.

Yeah, that's not happening here. Lol
Yours is a surprise miss. Mine knew for a few months in advance and had time to stew on it (it was a convention. Not like I could request a date change) So finally I hopped on Expedia and booked a trip. That convention cost me a fortune lol
You should have taken her with you then. :bang:
Hawaii is nice tho, all the spam you can eat. Lol
She didn't want to go. I think she knew I'd go balls to the wall "making up for it" lol. Hawaii is really nice. I've made some great friends there in our couple of visits
