Someone must like them. They have been making them for 120 years.
They've been making Pepto-bismol that long, too, but I'm not running out to buy a six pack.
I think there is a time and a place for P-lips, perhaps, just as there is a time and a place to swallow a shot of Pepto. I''ve never had a reason to try Pepto-bismol so I don't know what makes it good enough to stick around so long. I've smoked a P-lip and I still don't know what makes a P-lip pipe good, either. YMMV.

As you've all gathered I tend to buck the trend.
I find no trouble clenching.
I didn't realize you are bald. Not that that changes anything. In my mind's eye you look like Groucho Marx, though, even Groucho was bald, eventually. He grew balder the older he got. I'm not saying you look as old as Groucho did when he died. Was this picture taken today?

They're great. Best thing about them is their ability to sit between pointy, slightly askew teeth. They find a comfortable place in there every time. Buy them, their dependability is bar none, they're there for you.
Are you British, too?
I'm not trying to be funny when I ask this, but, this is an old world pipe manufacturer with an old world system, maybe the P-lip is preferred by old world smokers. That's all I'm getting at.

Was it the use of "askew" or reference to less than perfect alignment per dente? And no, not British, though I have heard of them.

I didn't think so but I had to ask.
Are you Australian? I think P-lips are popular in Australia, too. I'll have to do some research into that to confirm it. If so, that would be very interesting. I wonder where Peterson sells the most P-lip pipes per capita? I wonder how many people there are who prefer the P-lip over all other, anatomically correct and natural, pipe stems? I'm sure people have studied P-lipomania and published their findings in academic journals. Where to look...where to look.....

No comparison with Groucho could be bad. Thanks I think.

I was thinking similar. The stem just fits nicely where I'm missing a tooth in my upper row. We are known for our great dentistry.
However it happened I've found my pipe. The 302 fits my hand and my gob (mouth) perfectly. If anyone was planning on buying one you'd best be quick as I'm going to stock up.

Nope, All American and making full use of healthcare one with wherewithal parallel to myself dare not afford. Have this one tooth that... for the last fifteen or so years... one day I'll get back to Canada and see if they'll offer assistance. But yes, you may be onto something with Ye Auld World assessment, perhaps their popularity is governed more by dental practices, or lack thereof, than aesthetics. I know you guys say all kinds of things about their appearance, the rest of us comment on how effortlessly they seat. All about function.
