So, as some of you know I've been finding lot's of clay pipe pieces this summer. I thought it would be cool to share how I look for them so that others could give it a try for themselves! I'm using my cellphone for the first few videos and if anyone is interested in following my antics I'll post vids of my findings each time I go out. I'm getting one of those go pro style cameras for mountain biking and BMX riding so the video quality will go up in the future! lol Anyway, this first video was done on the fly because I wasn't planning on doing a vid but I found something awesome.

These next three videos will be the actual tutorial on finding clay pipes. There was some sort of major malfunction with my phone so the video ended up being a three part series. I hope y'all enjoy and I hope that you can get out there and find some clay pipes and pipe pieces!

So there it is, my three part series. Terrible I know, but hopefully it's a help for others to find some bits of clay! The stem I found that says "ALL" on the one side and "GLA" on the other is most likely a Duncan McDougall from Glasgow, Scotland. The really nice bowl I found in the first video did have a marking on it: there was a square on both sides of stem at the bottom of the bowl. I couldn't find a makers mark like that, but it might just be worn down to illegibility.

Thanks for sharing

I haven't found any pipes or part of pipes around here in missouri but have run across cool finds in creek beds
lots of rocks, minerals, fossils and some ... (p)artifacts

keep your eye out for other items as well
don't narrow down your field of view in hopes to find just certain things

Good Luck !
