I just on a whim signed up for the Dr. Grabow mailing list through their website, and apparently (you folks probably have known about this for years) you can get a new Ajustomatic from them in straight apple shape or full bent, for $35-36 depending on if you want it rusticated or not. But wait, there's more - they will send it to you free.

Any of you Grabow fans cash in on this? I am curious to see what the new tenon/mortise looks like.

I think my wife must have seen the mailing and trashed it. We will expect lots of pictures and a review.

I emailed Debbie and asked if it would be ok to post the Ajustomatic flyer to the forum. If she gives me the thumbs up, I will post it.

They are the old threaded tenon Dr. Grabow pipes, where after you fully threaded the stem in you could continue turning the stem to align it correctly. This solved the problem you often see on old Kaywoodies or other threaded tenon pipes, where the stems were not lined up correctly with the bowl. Instead of a stinger, they now use the 6mm filter channel inside the threading.

They made adjustomatic filter pipes too.

No sign of this on WV Smokeshop. Is this only direct from Grabow? No sign of this on Grabow's home page. I didn't want to spend a lot of time trawling though the whole Grabow site to find this.

Yes, it is only available to mail order customers. You have to be on their mailing list, and you actually have to fill out a paper order form and send them a check with it to buy them. They actually sell all their pipes, filters, and accessories factory direct that way for a pretty hefty discount if you are willing to buy old-school. Kinda similar to how you can send Medico a check for 20 some odd dollars and they will mail you back a randomly selected briar. I really dig that they are still doing business that way, even if it is only on the side.
