I have a 4th generation tobacco pouch I live it but it has a weird smell that transfers to my tobacco which leads to a terrible taste is this something that is normal or am I doing something wrong

If it has one of those rubberized liners inside the pouch, try leaving it(empty) outside in the sun for a day to sort of degas the rubber. If that doesn't fix it, then I'd probably start looking for a new pouch.
