On the History channel. They bring 4 smith's in and they have to create a given knife style from scratch. They eliminate smiths along the process until there is only one. They win a $10,000 prize.
The process is fascinating to me. Check it out.

If someone didn't carry a knife but was considering it and didn't want anything " scary " or expensive ... but wanted good + quality . Here's a few that would be good reccomendations ...

Anyway , there's a bazillion to recommend but those are for sure decent cheap knives that someone could start carrying and they'd be good . If they liked carrying , then they could always " upgrade "

I have found that the Swiss Army is easily the least threatening to pull out of the pocket to cut a piece of string or open a box. The aluminum scales keep it from seeming a little too "girl scout," and the model I have has thicker, more sturdy blades than standard. I like it.
