If it's a pipe I want to protect the stem on I'll cut the fat section off of one of those rubber bits and use just the band. That thick section makes me drool... A lotRusticated wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 6:19 pmSpeaking of clenching, do any of you EVER use those rubber bit protectors? Or is that like bringing a banana on a fishing boat?MikeDennison wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 7:45 am I got two of these on the 'bay. They're not fancy, just plain ol' unnamed billiards. I really like their lines, though...and they're light enough to clench comfortably.

Ditto on the drool! Like a freakin' Saint Bernard pup. Tried'em, don't like'em. But as the others say, you should give them a go for yourself.

In really good shape, too. Just a little scorching on the rim...which will likely get worse with me smoking it!Fr_Tom wrote: ↑Sun Sep 16, 2018 5:19 pmWhat a great looking pipe!MikeDennison wrote: ↑Sun Sep 16, 2018 5:05 pm This arrived a couple of days ago from the 'bay. A Kaywoodie pot.

I have more cake on the rims of some pipes than some pipe smokers have in the bowl. Here is a picture of the pipe I am smoking now. It was NOS in March maybe? This gives some protection from lighters and smacking it out on your heel/whatever.
