Roger that. Moosh it is! That sounds like a technical term I might use.Kevin Keith wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 3:27 pmWe called that giving the tobacco a "moosh" back on PSF 1.0. Mr. Moo came up whith the term! lolhoutenziel wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 2:51 pmNone of the "methods" ever worked well for me. The simple fact that all tobaccos have different moistures, cuts, etc, kind of precludes any specific method from working for every tobacco. Now I just fill the pipe up and keep filling it until I can lightly push the top and it's somewhat firm, but still has a little spring-back to it. Works for me anyway.
Can you overload your bowl??

You could acquire some early onset codger tendencies. I had a head start because my father had the codger thing down, and then I have been honing my practices for the last 42 years. I mostly smoke these days the way he did EXCEPT I am not a one-tobacco man. I don't take pipes apart hot, and I don't bash them out on concrete. I have more pipes than he did too I guess. It is probably important to develop a style.

I am a one tobacco man but I never take my pipes apart I do when I first get them and put beeswax on the tennon and never again do I separate the pipe and I’m very stuck in my ways even at 37 so maybe I’m an undercover codger

I have a torque tamper... it's similar to a torque wrench, but it's use to put the perfect packing pressure on each of the three-layer pressure levels. Drat, no battery in the camera.
