SG Black XX Twist

I have had this XX Twist Put away for a few years and I recently pulled it out to smoke some. Well honestly it was to make my wife smell it, but that is not the point here. Anyway it has this white mold like stuff on it. Am I still safe to smoke this and is this normal?

Is it fuzzy? Mold is fuzzy and plume is somewhat crystalline in appearance.

It’s a little fuzzy.

I’m hoping that I can just wipe it off and then try to smoke it fast.

It may be crystalized tobacco oil often called "sugar"
Look with a manifying glass
Mold is 3 D
It grows up
Crystals, tobacco oils, look like crystals
Does not look like mold to me
Check it out

Excellent! You are right. I looked at it closer and it looks like it’s crystals and all good.

My eyesight is not good as it used to be and it wasn’t great to begin with...

I love the XX. If I could smoke it every day I would. I try to keep aromatics as my go to, mainly so my wife will sit next to me on the porch after the kids are in bed.

Yeah. It’s funny because my first time around the pipe smoking I bought some tobacco and cellared it. Now as I’m getting back around to smoking a pipe after a bunch of life stuff happening I am rediscovering a bunch of great tobacco.
