I decided to fiddle with the cob a little bit. Anyone who knows me knows I despise the cheesy cob pattern printed on a wood shank so that got sanded off and a little stain applied. Sanded through a lot of the yellow coating MM puts on their cobs (there's still a lot of yellow but it doesn't look like a painted wall anymore) and went over the bowl with a tea bag to throw some more color variation into it. Once that was all done I melted some wax in a double boiler and hit the cob with a heat gun, laying beeswax on the surface like a meerschaum. Pic is filtered but closer to the actual color than the unfiltered picture was. Officially ready for July

I'm still in the incubation period before I can let this idea hatch. It promises to be tasty if I can pull it off.
I found my " corndog " and I'm going up to the barn to look for something .... while there , I think I'll try to do something with the shank

So I saw everybody had already finished theirs and figured I'd slap something together today. Don't think I followed directions so very good. Used the mini MM Robb sent, I have two other slightly modified ones and like the dinky cobs. Put an Oak plug in the bottom and salvaged a vulcanite stem. Rushed it a little and might clean up the stem more still, first I need to test it out.
