Pipes To Tobacco Ratio

A few months ago I decided to inventory my tobacco and pipes, and after charting it all in an Excel workbook began questioning my strategy.

I love to behold a nice pipe, so a lot are just for looking at, but figure my self-imposed rule of thumb now is that I should have at least 1lb of tobacco for every pipe. Otherwise, when the online Tobaccalypse comes I'm gonna end up with a bunch of pretty pipes with nothing to stuff in them.

What say you?

I have more pipes than I need and less tobacco than I would like.

Trying to keep occupied during the last of my home recovery . . . I dusted my Virginia Tin inventory.

Have several pounds of bulk in jars and pound bags as well.

Ratio: Several pipes with much to enjoy in them. I don't count how much tobacco I have . . . just have it.

1 smoking pipe to 10 pound tobacco ratio if I was a counting
But I do have a few extra pipes that intend to use some day so I guess I should order a few more tobacco samplers to even the score

The only way this really works is if you establish whatever ratio before you get deep into it
I am afraid to even consider calculating my ratio
