I wonder if this one ever sold? As a related side note his #5 is back up for auction. Last time it sold for a little over $80K. I bet this time it goes much deeper.

I wonder what shape the 77 was. I’ve been looking around but haven’t found anything. Surely someone bought it.

Well, you could send that King to NC and you’d be that much closer to having #5. Lol. I’ve got a TLA Improved #5 so I promise to not bid against you.

I love the TLA guns! Or as Grover called them, "muh pistols"! lolncrobb wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 3:58 pm

I'd sell that King, but I seriously doubt anyone would give me even what I bought it for! I probably I got rookiedoo'd but I had to have that King production! Every now and then I take it out and just look at that "Cock-Eyed" hammer! I love the "short action job" they did on it.

“TLA” is Texas Longhorn Arms, Bill Grover’s custom single actions. He thought Sam Colt must have been left handed since a right handed shooter has to switch hands to load and unload a normal Colt Single Action Army revolver so he built his “Improved” customs with the loading gate and ejector rod on the left side of the gun. He was a remarkable gunsmith but a poor business man.
.
This is my fancy .45 Colt. I also have a basic version in .44 Mag. They are both incredible.
