Tinned Seafood (and other deliciousness)
I hope you enjoy it @Kevin KeithKevin Keith wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 6:56 amI’m gonna make this, substituting, mayonnaise, or miracle whip for the cottage cheese.ric03 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 12:42 amI tend to do the following. Blend one tin of tuna or mackerel with a few tablespoons of cottage cheese, fresh herbs (parsley or coriander is good), the zest and a squeeze of 1 lemon or/and lime and plenty of pepper to give it some bite. It works with a fork and bowl if you can't be bothered to clean a blender after. Makes a lovely fish pate that goes perfectly on seeded toast

Tonight it's Bumble Bee smoked salmon fillets in oil, as a bit of a kickstarter for my four-day weekend. Goes great with a tumbler of Speyburn single malt.
Because sometimes the body just wants canned fish.
I've been trawling the archives of this thread. It is all very interesting. Ruff defends freeze-dried ice cream at some point, and another guy has tins of Thai tuna that look like baked beans.
I had forgotten all about this automaton that eats tinned fish of another kind. They are made of silver. I find this fascinating.

It comes in a jar, not a tin, but, man, this Acme pickled herring is delish.

Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man that he didn't, didn't already have.

I'm craving kipper snacks.

Bulldog sardines.
Spotted at the convenience store around the corner from my house.
Anyone tried these? The name is wrong but the price is right.
I don't eat tinned fish from China but I trust Thai food exports.

I love these Brunswick kipper snacks. When I'm traveling, I always carry a tin in my saddlebags.
My English brother-in-law fries them for breakfast. It stinks up the whole house and the ladies complain about the smell all day. I like them straight from the can. They have just the right amount of smoky flavor and the filets' texture is toothsome.
