@Sheridan try an old fashioned. Made with bourbon or rye, it's a great cocktail

@Sheridan you might also try a Rob Roy, another cocktail purportedly invented in NYC at the Astoria. It's basically the malt whiskey (Scotch) version of a Manhattan. Perhaps more to your liking, or perhaps an abomination.

I saw a bartender make four drinks today. This is what she said while she made them, all in a row, "Shirley Temple, Shirley Temple, Roy Rogers, Shirley Temple."

Had my first (& last) Manhattan this morning.
$19.95 at JFK Airport....... Didn't like it. :barf:
