I’ll stick to my zippos with the pipe insert and a good torch lighter for my cigars.

I used to fool myself into thinking that zippo fluid doesn't screw up the flavor of the tobacco. Last time I used it I realized that it tastes like shit. Be fine if I was still lighting cigarettes, but I'm not.

I hear that a lot. But I really do not taste it. Zippo pipe lighter for me all day. In a perfect world i’d use matches all day. Old timey aestetic.

Last time I used a zippo with pipe insert it screwed up my taste buds for a few days

A long time ago I only used Swan Vesta matches. Now my main lighter is a Zippo pipe lighter and I don’t taste anything. I also carry a Dissim lighter that my wife bought me (butane) and a Bic. Can never have too many backups.

I use matches most of the time, but have a Zippo on standby. I can taste it when I'm using it, but it seems to go away after a coupla puffs.

Tip of the flame with a zippo, or there abouts , and you won't taste much or anything.
A fresh refill and a drench job with the flame is the opposite

I still use my zippo. With the soft flame butane insert
