The 2 new fauxpont lighters I had mentioned somewhere about ordering from aliexpress showed up today, a few days early. Fit and finish is surprisingly nice, no need to file these ones. For less than $12 shipped for the pair I'm not mad. Working well enough already that I tossed the kiribi in a drawer.

One of the things I really like about these is that the flint loads in through the top. No screwing around with little knobs or screws to change the flint.

I'm pretty sure it's dupont, yes. In the same vein as the Rattray's Bel lighter tooPiping Abe wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 8:57 pm Very nice looking. What kind of lighter are they suppose to immitate? Dupont?

That does not sound like much fun. I enjoy all the fiddling around.Mr Beardsley wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 8:51 pm No screwing around with little knobs or screws to change the flint.
How often do you change the flint that this is a concern? I change mine whenever, but, it's not, like, weekly, or any regularity that I would consider it a nuisance.

You fiddle to your heart's content. I don't change them super often but I've stretched every spring to get better tension on my lighters and they're not exactly easy for large fingered folksCitizen B wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 5:09 pmThat does not sound like much fun.
