Can some one tell me how to remove the smell of aged rubber

Hey , you said aged rubber . But is it a burnt rubber smell because thats a different thing . I cant remember why I had a burnt rubber stem one time . I mean , how did it get to that point ? Any way , I boiled it [ light boil ] a couple few times . I dont wholly recall because it was a very long time ago , and did the booze and cleaner thing a bunch and at some point it got good enough

It's probably an old vulcanite stem and from the picture it looks like resin built up on the interior. Get some high proof alcohol, preferably one you like and dip a pipe cleaner in it and run it through until it's clean.
