They need culling around here and unfortunately they taste good too. :)

God i wish i had a squirrel problem, or a dove problem, or a groundhog problem.
Right now, my only problem is a pair of freezers that grows emptier by the day. Its a 6 deer year, and i intend to do just that. Maybe i can have some early season fortune and still have Mrs Crow in a good mood by the time big duck season rolls around.
How about chipmunks?
These furry monsters are back.
They used to be so bad I needed to eliminate them by the dozen. Then a couple years ago they just disappeared. It turns out there were a couple hawks keeping them in check in our yard. Now the hawks moved on and the munks are back.
May be time to get the 10/22 back in action.
And yes, they are tasty too....a pain to process but taste good. :)
Oh, and the crows are out of control as usual. We are harvesting corn, oats, rye and alfalfa soon, and they know it.

Beautiful dogs. I need a good bird dog. I put up 7 grouse today and probably walked 5 or 6 miles in the thick Poplar and birch. Guess how many shots I got? 0 lol.

I used to live in a healthy ruffed grouse habitat but now would take me around 3-4 seasons to see 7 grouse. I go each season after centerfire deer and still enjoy myself but in reality it's just hiking with a double gun lmao. even with a dog The King of the Woods is tough to get a shot on, but yes you need a doggo on principle :D

Last week I got this with my bow.
I still have a buck tag and 2 DMPs for regular season.
We eat a lot of venison but usually stop at 3 deer, its just me and my wife.

I havent bird hunted in a few years...except turkey.
But last year I hit a pheasant at 60 miles per hour in my wifes Nissan Rouge. I saw it run into the road, I heard the hit, but there was no bird skidding down the road behind me...so I stopped. The bird was "fine" and flew away eventually. :)

That’s wild! Yeah ditch chickens aren’t the smartest. We hit a hen but she was not so lucky.
