Re: Grabow Garage Sale!

I didn't want to say anything before he shipped them out because people can be sneaky but I plan on hitting him hard for such a vulgar display of generosity and blind acceptance of tobacco. Hope he enjoys everything coming to him.

Re: Birds & Bubbles

It won't raise deep tooth marks, just minor ones. If they are deep they have to be filled. The flame method worked wonders on the tooth chatter I was cleaning up. Any advice on fill adhesive? I've seen posts about vulcanite dust mixed with plain superglue, CA glue, black superglue and epoxies. I ge...

Re: Birds & Bubbles

I use boiling water for reshaping stems and an alcohol lamp for badly oxidized stems. Alright, so how long in boiling water? Does the vulcanite become flexible quickly? And would a pipe cleaner in the airway suffice to make sure that doesn't get kinked? Have never tried the boiling method but I've ...

Re: Birds & Bubbles

I know I've brought it up a few times so a quick search yielded this quote from me, just a little rundown. Feel free to ask questions or for a more detailed response Yeah, flame method is sketchy if not on top of everything but super effective. I use a candle and dart it into/at the flame never let ...

Re: Birds & Bubbles

When I tried bleach it turned the whole stem yellow and left pitting. Had to remove a lot of material to correct that. Have you tried burning off oxidation? The heat lifts indents too. Still need to sand to clean up and get the gleam lines straight but it's so much faster and doesn't remove materia...
