What Machine Made Cigar Are You Smoking Today? WMMCAYST™

Mrs. Beeftip and I went through a couple of Black and Mild's whilst drinking some Costco Sauvignon Blanc. It's their Kirkland brand, Marlborough something or another. $7 a bottle and worth every cent and then some. It's a lovely pairing on a decently mild and not so humid Wisconsin summer night. My ...

Re: The Opening ... pop that tin or jar weekend

Sorry. I'm late to the party. I popped open an 8-year old tin of McConnell's Scottish Cake during "The Opening". I have a small hoard of this as it was my favorite. I called it, "Sweet Hay Pancakes with a Fruity, Peppery syrup." Either time has not been kind, or, my taste buds ha...

Re: Dog bite?

How are Spotty and Big Head fed? Do they share a bowl, or do they have their own bowls? Are they fed on a schedule, or do you free feed? When you feed, do you make a big deal out of it, or do you just fling food into the bowl(s) and walk away? How old was Big Head when you brought him home? It sound...

Re: Must try blends

I like "outlier" tobacco. Blends on the fringe, if you will. I think every pipe smoker should try these, if only to have a better baseline. Or something like that. Here we go... Samuel Gawith -- 1792 (because Tonquin, or whatever they put on it. It's kind of fun) Gawith & Hoggarth - Da...

Re: GLP Chelsea Morning Cologne

When I smoke SWR or SWRA, Dear Sweetie likes the way I smell afterwards...but she doesn't like the smell of the smoke as I'm actually smoking My wife generally tolerates the smell of my pipe smoke. So, I guess I'm lucky in that regard. Last Friday evening we were playing a board game and she asked ...

GLP Chelsea Morning Cologne

Have you ever been complimented on how you smell after smoking? It's only happened to me a couple of times, but every time that it has, it was after I smoked a big ol' bowl of Chelsea Morning. Today I came in from my lunch bowl (I take lunch bowl's, not breaks) and a lady in the office asked me what...

Re: Burley Blends revisited

I combed through my "cellar" and found a jar labeled, "London Burley Blend". It was pretty full which tells me that I probably smoked a bowl or two and didn't think all that much of it. I smoked a bowl of the the London Burley blend last night. I got a little tongue bite from it....

Re: Burley Blends revisited

I grabbed a pouch of Carter Hall on my lunch break yesterday. Because, why not? At first it reminded me of every aromatic I've ever smoked without the cherry, or vanilla, or kiwi raisin scent. I loaded another bowl for the drive home and for whatever reason, it tasted much better. Kind of caramel, c...
